Privacy Policy
Practice Pal for iOS
Overview
Practice Pal is built by Fabian Aguilar. This policy explains how the app handles your information. The short version: your data stays on your device, and we don't collect, transmit, or sell personal information.
Data Collection
Practice Pal does not collect, store, or transmit any personal data to external servers. All app data is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework.
Specifically, Practice Pal does not:
- Require an account or login
- Collect names, email addresses, or contact information
- Use third-party analytics, advertising, or tracking SDKs
- Transmit data over the internet for core features
- Use cookies or similar tracking technologies
Data Stored on Your Device
The app stores the following information locally on your device only:
- Preferences — grade level, interests, and display settings you configure
- Session history — records of practice sessions (content type, date, duration)
- Child's first name (optional) — entered by you to personalize the experience. This is never transmitted off-device.
This data is stored in your device's app sandbox and is not accessible to other apps. Deleting Practice Pal removes all locally stored data.
Children's Privacy
Practice Pal is designed for parents to use with their children (ages 5–11). The app is operated by the parent, not the child. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. The optional child name stored locally is entered by the parent and never leaves the device.
Practice Pal complies with the Children's Online Privacy Protection Act (COPPA) by not collecting, using, or disclosing personal information from children under 13.
Apple Analytics
If you have opted in to share analytics with app developers through your iOS device settings (Settings > Privacy > Analytics & Improvements > Share with App Developers), Apple may provide us with aggregated, anonymous usage data such as session counts and crash reports. This data cannot identify you personally. You can opt out at any time through your device settings.
Future Premium Features
We may introduce optional premium features in the future (such as AI-generated audio content). If any future feature requires data transmission or third-party services, this privacy policy will be updated before those features are released, and you will be notified within the app. Premium features will always be opt-in.
Third-Party Services
The current version of Practice Pal uses no third-party services, SDKs, or APIs. The app functions entirely offline.
Data Security
All data is stored locally within the app's sandboxed container on your device, protected by iOS's built-in security including hardware encryption. No data is transmitted over the network.
Your Rights
Since we do not collect personal data, there is no personal data for us to access, correct, or delete on our end. All data is under your control on your device. You can delete all app data at any time by deleting the app.
Changes to This Policy
We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the app after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
